Pillars of First Baptist Church
Membership
The privilege of membership...where every member is ministered to!
Membership is more than simply a statement of where you worhsip, it is a commitment to the mission and ministries of a particular local church.
Becoming a member of a church is a very important decision. When one becomes a church member they are making a covenant with other church members to serve and glorify God together. The scripture says in Ephesians 2:13-22 that because of Jesus, we get the privilege to be one body to God through the Cross.
Maturity
The process of maturity...where every member is provided opportunities to continually grow in Christ!
One of the most important spiritual concepts for a believer to understand is Spiritual Growth. Discipleship is not something that happens over night. It is a lifetime process.
At First Baptist, we want to provide you with plenty of opportunities to grow spiritually.
We are called as Christians to continue to grow in the grace and knolwledge of God.
Ministry
The priority of ministry...where every member is a minister!
At First Baptist we desire that every member and person understand that God has uniquely shaped him or her for a specific call and ministry. We desire to help each person discover their giftedness and find the area of ministry God has for them.
John 17:3 says, "And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou has sent." The ultimate purpose of life is to enter into an intimate relationship with Jesus who created and redeemed us, to learn to trust, obey and serve Him all the days of our lives.
Missions
The practice of mission...where every member is continually on mission!
At First Baptist we desire to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We believe every Christian and member of First Baptist should be on mission with God to reach the world with the Gospel of Grace.
Why does the church exist?
According to Matthew's Gosepl, the risen Christ made it clear: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you." (Matt:28:19-20)
